By training today’s and future leaders to respond effectively to security challenges and issues of rising strategic importance, the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP) offers a valuable forum to a world in continuous search of peace, security and stability. It promotes independent policy dialogue and understanding across cultures and, through building capacity, serves to stabilise regions in crisis, transition and reconstruction. The GCSP provides a unique resource for capacity building to government, international organisations and civil society. It offers a wide range of training activities to provide leaders and experts with the necessary instruments to face with confidence today’s increasing security challenges. In this framework, the GCSP provides tailor-made training to build capacity in post-conflict civilian peacebuilding and reconstruction. The Centre places particular emphasis on pre-deployment training, therefore, skill development exercises form an integral part of all GCSP courses and training programmes. These include practical exercises and political-military gaming with the aim to simulate live situations.
